Before the procedure, you and your dentist will have a consultation to determine what type of sedation or anesthesia is most appropriate for your needs.

Whether you simply need help relaxing or wish to be fully asleep during your procedure, your dentist will explain the process to you, give you instructions for preparation, and answer any questions you may have.

Methods of Sedation for Sedation Dentistry

Dr. Milad will discuss your sedation options based on your specific condition and the type of dental work needed. Before administering any sedative, we will analyze your medical history and take note of any current medications.

IV Sedation and General Anesthesia:

It’s given via IV, so the effects come on fast. We can adjust the dosage during the appointment. You’ll sleep through and have no memory. It’s recommended to bring a companion for the visit and for the ride home.

Nitrous Oxide: Nitrous oxide, or “laughing gas,” is a sedative administered through a gas mask. You remain relaxed and experience a warm, weightless sensation. You’re still conscious and able to respond. It quickly wears off and won’t make you groggy, so you can drive afterwards.

Oral Conscious sedation dentistry: This sedation option is available in pill or liquid form and helps you relax by dulling your senses without putting you to sleep, but you will need to have someone with you to drive you home.

Crystalline Dental offers various sedation options that are safe for children and adults. Our skilled dentist, Dr. Milad Karamlou, and his team will work with you to choose the best sedation method for you or your child.
